WHAT ARE DENTAL IMPLANTS?

The dental industry has many solutions, materials and systems when it comes to dental implants , however the premise pretty much remains the same.  When working with implants a small titanium post is surgically placed into the jawbone where there is a missing tooth  and then a crown is made to look just like the missing tooth and essentially screwed onto the post.

In addition to replacing single missing teeth, they can also be used to help fill longer spans of missing teeth.  They can help to secure dentures in the mouth as well.

Once it is determined that implants are a good option for you, and after your implants have been placed, we can build the artificial, natural- looking restorations upon these titanium posts.  The goal is that the implants will improve overall function, and contribute to improving your overall aesthetics while offering a measure of durability only second to the original tooth itself.
